Brake Repair

Keep your car running—and stopping—smoothly by having your automotive brakes inspected at least once a year.

Don’t compromise the security of your vehicle by neglecting brake maintenance; ensure confidence of knowing your vehicle is coming to a stop when you press your foot to the brake.

Brakes are critical to your vehicle’s safety and used regularly—every time you drive.

Generally, automobiles have standard or ABS brakes. Traditional brakes consist of the rotor, caliper, and brake pads or shoes. If worn brake pads are not changed, rotors may need to be replaced as well. Have your brakes checked and maintained regularly to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.

You use your brakes every day, so it’s important to pay attention to any changes in your vehicle’s braking system as it might indicate a repair is required.

If you notice any of the following, have your mechanic check your brakes immediately:

  • A piercing squeak when you press the brake pedal
  • Shaking/vibration when stopping
  • Scraping/grinding noises when not braking (may be problem concerning brakes or bearings)
  • Having to apply more pressure than normal when braking

Brake Tips:

  • Never drive with the parking brake on!
  • Check and change brake fluid as needed. If your vehicle needs you to change the fluid every few months, you may have a puncture.
  • Have brakes checked at least once a year and more frequently if you drive through heavy traffic or reside in a hilly area
